“Namban Screens – The Encounter” is a folding screen (from Japanese byōbu) honouring the 16th-century Namban meetings between Portugal and Japan. Inspired by Japanese screens of Portuguese sailors, it reimagines that inaugural exchange, celebrating sustainability and circular economy. Each panel uses wine, coffee or chocolate production waste, inviting contemplative discovery.
